I have an A. avic sling that molted to about 1 inch on Easter. On tuesday I started offering it food, but everything has been refused so far. Also, it seems to be having trouble climbing its deli cup, which wasnt a problem before the molt. The slings abdomen is tiny. Should I be worried? Thanks for any imput.

I wouldn't worry to much, but its perfectly understandable if you do. We all do it. Anyways, just make sure to mist the sides of its container, to keep the humidiy up, but more importantly keep the T hydrated. Good luck.

All spiders need time after they molt for their exoskeleton and fangs etc. to
harden. Their fangs are usually white after a molt and gradually darken to
black over a few days. It varys with size of T from my experience. Usually
a with a 1" sling it might take 3-5 days before they will eat. If it takes a
little longer don't worry, just make sure pinheads are appropriate size. Some
s'lings will eat dead crix, but with any Avic I have had better luck with live
pinheads.:D :D :D

Thanks guys. I'll try not to worry. I've been giving the sling water drops every other day, so I think its hydrated okay. I know they need a little while to harden up after a molt, but I thought two days wouild be enough... I guess I'll just wait a while longer. Thanks again!
