Well source was the first mistake. There is a history of sick animals esp things like geckos. There is no doubt in my mind the animal was sick when you purchased it The second would be not taking it for a vet check right away when purchased. although this is a step that in a perfect world should not be needed it truly is. I am sorry for the gecko.
