Lost our old rescue girl a couple weeks ago. Hope we were able to make her last 4 years the best they could have been. She was "rescued" by someone who bought her on Craigslist and then kept her chained to a pickup truck in the yard. When he thought she accidentally got pregnant (at ~10 years old!!!), he decided to give her up, but the shelter turned her away due to her complete lack of social skills, so he was considering euthanasia. So we took her in. Fortunately for her and us it was a false pregnancy. She was a project dog, and then the sweetest girl ever, and will be missed. 💔 R.I.P "potato dog" View attachment 468826 View attachment 468827 View attachment 468828 View attachment 468829 View attachment 468835

Thanks 😕
I have a soft spot for old dogs, so I kind of set myself up for it. This one didn't give us a lot of time to come to terms with it, she was doing pretty well right up until she wasn't. One bad day two weeks before, then a really bad day that kinda forced our hand on making a decision. But 14-ish is a pretty good run for a 70lb pittie mix thing. Ultimately I'm glad we got to have her for the time we had. 🐕

A sad story but clearly a wonderful dog who had the perfect owner in her latter years. ❤

I got a few furr babies myself. I got a male black faced rottweiler named MOSHA and a male red doberman named RUSTY. I also got a lil chunky pug named OLIVER... mosha and rusty have been inseparable since they were pups, and grew up to be the best of buds. I used to have dobies...my brother had a red male.....theyre such wonderful goofballs...I have heard the red males described as the clowns of the dog world, and darn near every one I have met fits that bill.....That's a breed I will get again one day...their intelligence is always impressive. Thanks for sharing.
I thought both of you would enjoy seeing my runt cairn with this one dobie who is one of his most favorite friends!

My doll Fiona. Retired from the racetracks of Ireland to move in with me in rural California. She's my third retired track dog. I can't imagine having anything else at this point. Greyhounds rule!

My dogs Buddy and Odin. I raised both of them from pups. I got Buddy (the smaller one) a bit too early from someone just trying to get rid of an accidental litter. I had to feed him wet food mixed with dog milk until the rest of his teeth came in so he could eat solid food.

My boys - Nitro is the bully mix, he's already 14 now :bigtears: looking so old but still acts like a puppy. And my boyfriend's/our schnauzer, Loki in a bit of an older picture of the two.
