Should I rescue a Cobalt?

Beautiful! I'm thinking of using the lividium as a mural on my black 1970 Camaro! (Did you give your wife a big hug and kiss!!!! She's way cool!)

Congrats. Wow! That is a true beauty.

BTW, Don't think of it as rescuing a T but rather adding a great looking specimen to your collection.

um, the cheapest cobalt that i've ever seen for that price was at a exotics show, and also miserable. my cobalt sling is kind of like having an angry kitten as a pet. avoid its hole, and feed when she goes death stalking. we are getting a petco here, any suggestions before they fill it with sad pets?

In my local pet shop is a Cobalt Blue between 2 1/2" and 3". It has been there for several months at least, priced at $39. Every time I see it, it is all hunched up on the floor by the edge of the glass. I don't think it is happy in it's current environment, sitting on a very thin layer of sand. Other than that she is all there, and does move when disturbed.

Today I asked the owner if she would give me a discount price on it. She thought for a moment and said $30. Would this be a good price?

Thanks,

Dave
Sand!? Sand!? That is not the best thing for a poor Tarantula to have as substrate. It could kill the poor thing!

I'd get a few pictures of my Luci for you guys to look at but she's not looking her best because she's going to molt soon. And I rescued my B. smithi yesterday from the petstore. She looks so much happier wandering around in her enclosure rather than curled up in the corner. Plus her neighbor is a feisty Mexican Bloodleg, so she should feel right at home with a similarly colored T next door.

You people are too funny. =D

Yes, she is a beauty... It's hard to stop looking at her. She's made a little home under one of those 1/2 round hollow log thingys you buy at the pet store, but hasn't started to burrow. I figure it's likely that she just might not burrow, considering that my Curly seems pleased as pie to just sit under her clay pot when she should be burrowing!

It would be perfectly fine if she didn't burrow, because then I could look at her more. :)

You never know. She might be a rabid web builder. Dn't be surprised if she constructs a huge web all over her enclosure.
