Are they blue??
They come in lots of colors, blue, green, pink, yellow... I'm surprised these calm down the T instead of freaking them out. I'd be worried about them getting stuck

My B. albopilosum got stuck to a fuzzy sweater once (poor thing) so now I try to keep my T.s away from fabric.

There are sticky mouse traps that you can use and such.
Incedentally there are no native loxoceles in Michigan, what is here that can give a similiar bite are yellow sac spiders.

very well said john. when i was a kid, i always had something loose. a brachy, an aphonopelma, a cyriopagopus named Beavis, an 8" scolopendra gigantea name wedgehead..... my moms reation to that one was...... "hey josh, wedgeheads crawling across the floor" as she continues to blow dry her hair in a 'im used to it' kind of atittude. another time, it was, "josh, beavis is loose and she doesnt look very happy", once again, blow drying her hair. lol, indeed, beavis was NOT happy..... the only time my mom ever freaked out about anything getting out was when a latrodectus hesperus had babies while i was in california and ALL 6 SACS WORTH OF BABIES WERE WEBBING UP MY ENTIRE CLOSET AND PART OF MY ROOM!!!! she said it freaked her out! but, i got a very mellow, silly phone call from my mom. she was laughing about the situation. i have a really understanding and tolerant mom :D
???? Sounds kinda like a made up story there. War veterans, correction officers, bounty hunters, lion tamers, animal control experts, etc... would run from an 8" scolopendra gigantea, even if it were behind glass. But loose on the floor? :embarrassed: There ARE a fearless handful who will hold them and such... but come on now... wedgehead???? What is that?

I've heard of putting out water dishes(the AC thing sounds like BS to me, but I'm all ears if anyone has found it to work).

old shirts and whatnot do work well. I've found a sling r two that made a mad run curled up in a blanket...seemed very cozy. :)

Haha...yeah. I started to think when I read that.

Their is always somebody worse than you. :)

Having hissers, lobsters, and the occasional T running loose before doesn't seem so bad now!
