Shelf with glued particle board (toxicity)

i think you should be ok. the only way i could see it being harmful is if the board was treated with some kind of insecticide. i do not think the glue in the wood would be dangerous unless it is burned or you are cuting the wood. i have an iguana i got as a rescue set up in a particle board enclosue and he has been fine for several months. the down side to the kind of shelf you have is if you choose to use heat mats under the enclosures. you can beat his problem with a strip of flexiwatt heating tape along the back of the shelving unit. that is how i have my set up and it works really good. my room temp. is 80 degrees f so i only have to use it in the winter when the temp. drops to the 70's. i hope this helped a little :)
