We see sexing requests in the Tarantula Chat and Discussions forums quite often. While most people who have been on here a while know there's a thread with instructions for sexing requests, it may be hard to find for any people not familiar with the forums. I just saw a sexing request in the wrong forum and it took me a while to find the instruction thread.

I suggest posting duplicates of the instruction thread sticky in the Tarantula Chat and Discussion forums where most of these posts occur.

I agree with this, but, the sexing is very easy to find, on the homepage you scroll to Tarantulas which you should be looking for anyway and there is only 5 options to choose from, Tarantula sexing being one of them. So it couldn't be any clearer. Even if we did this we will still get people posting in the wrong place because people are stupid and lazy.

Thanks for the suggestion! I actually agree with you. It is now sticky in all 3 tarantula sections (Tarantula Questions and Discussions, Tarantula Chat and Tarantula Pictures). I even added an "Admin Announcement" prefix to it, to help it better stand out. :)

From my own experience, I also strongly agree with this too. You know the saying, you can lead a horse to water ... ;)

I don't disagree with you either, nothing is "sailor-proof" after all. I just figured it might help cut down on the wrong postings.

Agree- the problem is peeps are too lazy and stupid. They don’t take the time to look beyond ONE damn line of text on their stupid phone. Like having a fridge full of food, and can’t find anything not in front of their eyes.

I send people a text. 2 sentences, and they answer only the last one.

Then if you split up Qs into 2 texts you get told
“You’re sending too many texts, I can’t deal with so many”

Sure you can’t idiot 🙄

You actually touched on a chronic problem the modern world has produced, the limited attention span. It can be seen every day with people staring at their phones, zooming through screen after screen. It used to be called billboard logic. You get the attention of the person driving past for a limited period of time. If the billboard has more than 14 words it's wasted advertising money. TL DR.
You have to chop the data up into tasty attractive sound and sight bites. Text is out. Requires a triple brain function, see, read, analyze and understand. Attention span gone somewhere along the line. The multiple posts clear evidence of this phenomenon.

My ex is a commercial artist. There's a big list of rules regarding signs or product packaging. Name or info text must be high contrast, preferably one word. Goes straight across the medium or upwards at an angle. Never sloping down. All sorts of tricks to grab the short attention span consumers eye.

Scientifically this is easily explained. Learning is always 90% sight at first. Just compare the size of the nerve bundles from the senses. Combine with audio the ratio is around 70% 20%. However, if the input is text there is no direct connect to the brain. Requires relay and interpretation. Practiced mental acuity becomes a factor.

A class. Video plays. The American flag waving in the breeze, the Star Spangled banner playing. Next to it to the left, a paragraph of text. Just over 1 minute then both are turned off. Question to the class. What was the last sentence of the paragraph? The first sentence? Graphically displayed, our senses at work and to what degrees.

he limited attention span
Yes, and that's why I rarely if ever provide them link to the correct forum or instructions. If they don't have the time to see it, I surely don't have the time to spoon feed them. Also, I don't have a quick way of providing the link/s. on my phone.

Cynical but understandable. The old lead a horse to water conundrum. And inciting sufficient follow through interest is often as difficult and pushing a wet cow flop up a steep hill with a pointed stick. -> Not my job.
But just as bad is my tendency for supererogation: wall of noise.
