Hello,
I've bought a Anthia Sexmaculata-Beetle yesterday. Is it harmful for them when the terrarium stands in a room, where is loud music for 4-5 hours a day?
And how do they get along with loud noices generally?
Would be glad for answers
Thanks and greetings

As far as I know, most insects are more sensitive to vibrations they can detect with their feet. I think music with a subwoofer would be more likely to stress them. They also might just adapt regardless if it is fairly constant. Sudden loud noises, though, will probably continue to scare them if they are able to sense the vibrations inside the enclosure. These are also tiger beetles, and I know mine was always a bit hypersensitive to movement and disturbances around the cage.

I’d definitely recommend keeping them in a more quiet room as such vibrations will stress them out. I wish you took this into consideration before purchasing the animal...

If not you may be able to prevent the vibrations reaching the enclosure through soundproofing etc. but try to find a quiet room first.

From my experience Carabids are pretty sensitive to loud noises and vibrations. Whenever I open the enclosures (even gently) they scatter and hide, so I would expect 4-5 hours of this daily would stress them out quite a bit.

Hi, thanks for your answer.:) In the pet shop, where I bought him, the beetle was named as " "Tiger ground beetle" alias Anthia Sexmaculata". In the meanwhile I found out, that it isn't a tigerbeetle. I had no clue in the beginning, because I'm a totally beginner.:)

Thank you all for your answers and infos about my question.:DI have the beetle in a quiet room, just wanted to ask what would be, if he were in a louder one.:)
