Seattle - Looking for Invert and Herp Advice

I've been living in Seattle a long time, but I grew up on the east coast and lived in Korea for years. I love going on bug and reptile hunts, but I have a hard time finding much of anything in the Seattle area outside of garter snakes and very few interesting inverts. Though I did find a yellow spotted millipede that glows under UV!

Now I've got a daughter who loves nature. I was wondering if anyone local could point me in the right direction for finding interesting invertibrates and reptiles in the area or hobby groups that go out looking for critters.

Maybe not exactly what you're after but the Burke museum has one of the largest insect/arachnid specimen collections in the US. I saw a short YouTube video on it done by a news station just about that and cataloging them all etc. So I'd assume they have some cool exhibits since that collection probably isn't available to the public to browse.

I saw some of it at a behind the scenes night! But the only thing they've had on display for a while is black widow prey leftovers. I wish they would add an entomology exhibit because that would be really cool!

If you want to go on a little road trip, you can find a lot of cool stuff down on the Columbia River. The areas between White Salmon and Lyle are probably the best in the state for invert (and reptile) diversity. Hunt responsibly, it is a very sensitive area. Ticks too!
