I am in the middle of constucting a pink toe cage, by tipping a ten gallon aquarium on its side and making a hinging glass door. For ventilation, there will be a 10x4 screen at the top. I dont want the taranulas tarsal claws to get stuck in the screen. To avoid that, should I get screen too fine for it to get stuck or screen that it wide enough to just pull its foot in and out without it getting stuck? Also, could it gets its whole leg stuck in the larger screen? :? Which is easier to find and what will work the best?

i'll have to dig for it but somewhere on here i read about some custom enclosures that i really liked. This person used a type of "pet screen" because it is plastic coated and different than the regular woven screens that are not good for the T's.

i too am making a house for an A. avic and one Pokie. i am using a similar design to the link below but with acrylic instead of glass. i'm glad you brought this up because i was going to double check the screen issue myself before finishing my project. i'd be curious to know what screen is okay to use myself.

Here is the model i was using for ideas for my own aboreal enclosures:

Here is basically what my setup is, but the screened part would be bigger. I dont know where I would find that plastic stuff, so I'm probably going to use wide screen. Also, Im coating the back of the tank with aquarium silicone and stamping green frog moss into it for good humidity and looks. You should try it, there's directions on how to do it in the gallery under enclosures.
