Hmm, sorry, but I can't quite enjoy when I see dead scorps. For every bottle a scorpion has to die. :8o
The page says that they are farm raised but that actually doesn't makes it much better imo.

And as far as raising animals for random consumption, plenty of other animals are raised for the sole purpose of being killed and consumed (cows, chickens, pigs, fish, etc.).

Show me a bottle of vodka with a dead cow in the bottom and I'll be truly impressed.

Kindest kindest,

Animals are eaten everyday, scorpions are no different. :embarrassed: Lets not get offended just because we happen to own scorps. Unless you happen to be vegetarian or vegan, then I understand and respect your opinion. :)

Ones mans pet is another mans meal. I think to get so uptight about it is rather intolerant and close minded.

And I would love to try this vodka. Wonder why there isnt a steak at the bottom of ever bottle of Beefeater Gin.....

I understand and respect your opinion. I'm not a vegatarian but for me it makes a great difference to consume meat or animals I own as a pet. I also own a dog and I would never eat any other dog. Of course, you can call that close minded, sure it is way of close minded, but that's the way I feel. I don't disrespect people doing that.

Damn, I did a search on here and came up with nothing. I figured it had not been posted before. Sorry.
I believe it was originated in Russia, but I am not sure.

I am a vegetarian and have been since I was a kid. I enjoy it and do it for myself. I do not preach to others and only talk about it if someone wants me to. I find allot of things that humans do to be questionable and down right ignorant, but I have found that trying to change the world doesnt work, so I changed myself to be more tolerant. Things like this vodka do not bother me as much as other things. Hell I even thought about getting a bottle to keep around for display. so, whatever.

google...works wonders :D

http://www.skorppio-vodka.com/

This superb vodka is produced 100% from single grain (wheat) and enriched with a real edible scorpion. The scorpions are a delicacy in several countries.
enriched by a scorpion eh? hmmmm....lol

produced and bottled in England...but distributed here by:

Nevada Wine & Spirits Corp.

2232 South Nellis Blvd. #101
Las Vegas, NV 89104. U.S.A.

i dont see why anyone sane would want to drink vodka...it doesn't agree with me at all lol, but people do. I blame the Russians for the whole thing

Im sorry, let me explain.
I meant that if you had read the whole thread you would have seen that dotdman had posted a link that was to a thread previosly posted by someone else already bringing attention to the vodka. I had done a search here on Arachnoboards, which I do so I dont post the same thing, and didnt come up with anything.
Thats what this statement meant...

The russian thing was just a secondary thought I had, which your right, I didnt look into it, I just assumed. It was also kinda a joke because Russians are known for their vodka.
You just wanted to be a smart ass and insult me. I did do a search..... Thats how I came up with this in the first place... I didnt really care who made it, I was just making an assumption about something irrevelant.
Do you understand now?

Nothing ruins perfectly good human relations like alcohol.

In Thailand they eat them deep fried. On the carts you see some even less savoury looking things to eat! To each his own!

as much as i DO enjoy being a smartass...i reserve it mostly for political debates and such. the big grinning smiley was not meant to be a smartass comment, nor was the "google...works wonders", more of a general statement. Sorry for any confusion, didn't mean to come across that way.

trust me...if i wanted to insult you I'm sure I could have done a lot better, it's a gift kinda lol. But you've done nothing to warrant such a response and you haven't said anything I could play on anyway lol

again...sorry for any misunderstanding

Can't believe the scorp would improve the vodka much. I know of people who have been quite ill after drinking similar products - I think the bits of decomposing flesh floating about should be enough of a warning sign. Adding animals to alcohol seems to be mainly done to improve the look of the drink rather than the flavour. In some cases (large lizards and snakes in particular) the animal is raised in the bottle and then eventually drowned.

Hi NoS,
try not to get offended by what people write; 99% of these occasions are just misinterpreted (like in this thread), i dont think there is anyone in AB who really wants to cause a reaction by being rude or a "smartarse" so just absorb it if it does happen,
no worries :)
