Scorpion variety feeding

Hey I'm new to scorpions and have some questions about having some variety in their diet. I don't like feeding my big emperor crickets because those suckers keep me up all night if he doesn't get them:evil: Anyways, I feed my scorpion a lot, put in random bugs I find around my house and such. I've feed him about 2-3 last week, ate 3 crickets, then a wasp a few days later. I waited 5 days and threw in a pinky mouse and he DEVOURED it. No worries, the pinky mouse didn't stay alive long.

So I was wondering how this big variety of different animals to feed him would affect him and how often should I feed him. I was thinking about throwing a small green anole lizard in with him next feed. Any suggestions or comments appreciated

From what I've read, feeding wild animals isn't reccomended. I do it, but you would of gotten that anyway.

Also, I've read feeding animals with bones(Calcium) is detrimental to their exoskeleton.

And in nature they'd get many different bugs, so it's all good.

They do well on just crickets/roaches nothing else is needed, but feeding other things isn't bad either.

Also waxworms constantly isn't good either, they have a lot of fat or something.

From what I've read it's believed that emperors in the wild feed on termites.

Me too. Also, I think the African termites are larger than U.S. termites. Also, emps have been found inside the termite mounds.

How often would you say I should feed him like that. I see others say just a couple of crickets once a week. I like feeding him the pinkies, its fun.

And about the calcium, I'm using calcium enriched cricket quencher, thinking that the calcium would be better for its exoskeleton. harden that sucker up

Well feeding them a variety of feeders isn't bad but Don't feed them stuff from around your house unless you are certain it is pesticide free...and it's most likely not. Wild bugs also contain a variety of fungus and parasite. Aztek you of all people should know not to feed bugs around your house. I've done experiments with wild caught field crickets and roaches and you'll be amazed how many have parasites. What you can do is catch some of these feeders let them reproduce in captivity and use those as feeders. Roaches make awesome feeders I had a terrible roach phobia for years and finally shook it off. Best decision I've made. No noise, no smell, easy to breed, and a variety of different roaches are available.

You can tear or cut off one of the wing covers on the males so they can't make that noise. I don't like that noise either. A lot have gotten out over the years so I've gotten to be a pretty good shoot with a rubber band.

Yeah I remember seeing this picture somewhere of a 5 foot tall termite mound with a lot of emps in it.
