I have noticed that there is no scorpion horror movie. They have trantulas, anacondas, spiders, dinosuars, big dogs. But NO scorpion horror flick.

We really need to make one.

I mean just imagine this one seen.

"Slowly walking down into the basement, takes out his ultra violet light while accidently dropping his regular flashlight on the ground smashing and breaking it. "dammit  " he says as he switches on his UV flashlight, He slowly shines the light everywhere. Then eventually gives up and starts walking upstairs. and as doing this he sees around 3 glowing scorps(deadly nonnative species) Just then the UV light goes out. NO LIGHT!"

Now tell me that wouldn't be scary.

I think the scorps would be animated on close-ups, but use desert hairys :p for faraway shots.

but under NO conditions would we use emps. NEVER! lmao!!! {D

I think nicolas cage would be the actor for one of the first characters to get stung. and uma thurman would also be a great actoress for this film. lol :}

We could even feature the use of arachnoboards on the film LoL. :D

Anybody on the boards happen to be a director? lol

There is one Black Scorpion from 1957. Basically your standard monster released from where it has been trapped beneath the earth for millenia movies. They eat Mexico City though. I saw it at the video store not long ago but havent seen the movie.

Well, if this is the only scorpion movie, there NEEDS to be another one.

A more umm...........uhhh...........lets say a more "realistic" film horror with scorpions.

I was thinking of a new found species of scorpion, lots of small ones I guess, like all the sudden they're appearing everywhere and noone knows were they're coming from, they're aggresive, and EXTREMLY venomous. Like first they are found in the lower areas of texas then they're spreading. further north. Their stings are VERY lethal. and painful. like it gives you 6 hours of blinding pain then it kills you.
This should be very scary if it were to happen. :D

No, arachnophobia was about a species that already existed only somewhere else. I'm talking about a new hybred or maybe not. I don't know, how about a man who got bitten by a radioactive spider! THATS ORIGINAL! LoL

I could always change the plot abit to aviod copy write lawsuits.

actually, theres a movie called 'Tail Sting' that was utterly horrible, giant, genetic scorps accidentially released on an airplane and they kill a bunch of people, pretty lame, heres a link:
"A pack of massive genetically altered Scorpions escape containment on an airplane, turning passengers into victims and forcing one ordinary woman to confront her worst fears.' OH MY GOD, THEY KILLED KENNY! the horror. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0290884/

Can they be paranah like and swarm over people and reduce them to bones in a matter of minutes?

What if they were irradiated by that nuclear disposal site near Carlsbad?

Should submit the idea to Troma.

Alot of the members of this board would probably be up to the challenge ;) (though I don't include myself)

Please, I can't stress this enough. NO FREAKIN EMPS!!! Either other (desert species) or CG, just NO EMPS!

I'd rather have a scribbled pic of a scorp attached to a string than a EMP! LoL

The best portrayal of freakishly giant scorpions ever committed to film was Clash of the Titans, thank you Ray Harryhausen for your ingenious stop-motion creations. Actually, I would love to see a horror actually present true scientific and medical truth as a back story to bio-engineered scorpions. Give the real facts about the real scorpions of our world, shed light on both non-deadly and deadly species for the general public. Don't misinform or mismalign. Don't stir paranoia or encourage arachnophobia. And let the fictious scorpion monsters (giant or otherwise) lend all the terror or repulsion to viewers.

This is exactly what we need. Realistic fear.
