Scorpion Housing

Hello, my spider & scorpion room is consistently at 80 degrees. Would it be okay to place my scorpions in clear plastic enclosures without an external heat source, given that the room is 80 degrees during the day and 72 degrees at night? The species currently are Parabuthus transvaalicus, Androctonus bicolor, Deathstalker scorpion, Hottentotta hottentotta, and Hottentotta tamulus.

All those scorpions like hot heat so 80° constant day temps sound fine. The Hottentotta Hottentotta and Tamulus like upper 80s low 90s if able. But you should be ok with the mid range 80° heat. Metabolism might be a litttttle slower but will still eat and molt.

No problem.

Just make sure there is plenty of ventilation in those tubs if that's the direction you go. Mycosis can happen very easily with desert species. You don't want built up moisture harming thdrarid ones. Hottentotta Hottentotta needs a bi weekly misting to elivate humidity levels around %50-55 give or take and the Quinquestriatus should be kept with low levels of humidity 50% is pushing it. Androctonus and Tamuls ride around 30-40%.

Great collection of, but quite spicy. Did you get them at a show? I don't know many places that carry all of those, the company I work with being one of them.
