Here is a picture of a scorpion I just found today. Of course, I have no idea what it is. I really need a good book on scorpion identification. The pincer on the rock was found next to a tarantula burrow nearby. The reason I started looking for scorpions is so I could find out what type of scorpion the pincer may have come from. So far I have found scorpion remains, trapdoor spider remains, male T remains, and numerous tenebrionid beetle remains around the entrances of tarantula burrows here.

Thanks for the help Kugellager! It wasn't found in the low deserts like the Mojave, but it was found in the hills of Southern California. I suppose that is desert. There are some cacti spread around. He is a defensive little critter. Very quick to use his pincers.
