Scorpion found in LA - needs good home ASAP!

Hi everyone,

We found a black scorpion about 4" long overall, in our parking lot.

I know nothing about their proper care, and I already have a cat so although he (she ? ...) is impressively handsome, I am not qualified to adopt.

I do not want it to be harmed, or to release it here in an urban/residential mix area with lots of traffic and people - but to be placed in care of a responsible enthusiast ASAP.

The guys here at work used a pair of lab-tongs to transfer it to a jar with airholes where the unfortunate fellow is confined now, for the safety of our staff.

Any Los Angeles area person who will come and adopt him pronto ? this is a beautiful creature and I do not want him to come to harm.

What species is it? (if you dont know you can post a pic of it). If you find that out you can at least keep it alive until someone comes to get it.

I can pick that scorpion up if you still have it. I really don't know what spp. it is but I'm sure i can take good care of it. I have been keeping scorpions for over 1 1/2 years

sorry, I had another message from you with more logisti details but can;t seem to find it.
I DO still have the scorpion here at work.
Our office is 2 mi. north of LAX, close to 405 S fwy at LaCienega/Manchester.
We found the scorpion around 5pm last night and obviously I want to arrange for its decent care ASAP.
Can you pick it up ?

If you do end up keeping it I would still love to see pics. Would be interesting if there is a sustained population of an exotic scorp in LA...

Eddy will get it
I can't pick it up till Sat lol Its just about 2 hrs of driving too much for me.
I was gonna get it for my brother he asked me for an emp about a month ago...lol

But Eddy its way closer, i did talked with Michelle though and gave her some suggestions on how to keep the scorpion while someone picks it up.
I'm sure its an escaped emp. But Eddy you gotta post pics man!!
