Fusion are the non-fluoresce exoskeletons from the T. stigmurus confluenciata with the stiped legs that you posten in the scorpion photos thread?

I took a good look yesterday to the T. stigmurus confluenciata and couldn't see and stripes at all!
Do they have the stripes only when juveniles and loose them when adult or is this a different sp.??

Hi
I don't know if its that exact one, but a sibling of yes. The stripes are only on the young, as far as I'm aware, they vanish towards the last instar. But every scorpling I've seen of T. stigmurus confluenciata has them.

Heterometrus longimanus borneensis (under UV light). It looks like it was dipped in glossy paint.

Wow, I feel special for reviving a thread :D

Here's my H. laoticus:

I hate my camera under black light -- both this guy and my emps are a beautiful blue-green turquoise color to the naked eye, but my camera only picks up the blue.

Bump. Again.

Here's my new Parabuthus leiosoma. Sorry that all the earlier pictures I submitted are now broken links (please see signature).

There's a layer of something in the exoskeleton that's fluorescent, but only present after the exoskeleton has hardened. No one knows why it's there.

Is there anyone reading this thread that's been able to get the greens to show up, and not just the blues? What camera do you use? *kicks current camera*

It's from a mixture of substance secreted through (I forget what), that covers and hardens the cuticle. That's why the molted skin floureces but the new exoskeleton doesn't for a bit. :)
