Well, I finally succeeded in taking some white background shots of my S. morsitans. He may be super docile from repeated socialisation work, but getting him to stand still was no easy task nonetheless. image.jpeg image.jpeg image.jpeg

May I ask how others get their white background shots looking optimal?
I want to know how you get white background shots at all lol centipedes are fast! So far I've only been able to take pictures sneaking up on them in the enclosure, when they notice me though... do you have a separate white enclosure you put them in or are they just out on a white surface?

Gorgeous pictures btw! I like how the background allows the detail of the pede to come into focus

I just put a container over them, while on a piece of paper. Eventually, they stop moving, and you can remove the lid and take some photos. As my pedes are also very docile from my socialisation work, I don't need to be particularly cautious either.

Love the shots. Great work. I,m a teacher..can use these in class. Inspire me over the holidays to see if i can get some shots like yours..with my SM. Question....noticed, today..in cage on surface - two white piles of cocoon thread about 1cm across. Each pile is about 10 cm apart. I use Coco peat substrate. Under these white piles of thread the substrate seems to have clumped together. As if a liquid has brought it together?
I,ve owned this SM for about a year. Haven't seen this before. I feed SM live crickets. What's going on??? Any takers?
Thanks...

Thanks! TBH the photos don't do its colours justice. But I got a new camera today, and I'll see if I can get some better photos!
