thanks for the reference.

how long does the yellowish tinge last, or rather how long before the molt do they spend looking like that?

i totally missed it with my first pede-molt since the pede spends months at a time burrowed.

my other 2 should approach a molt soonish and i think one of them shows some early signs of premolt, but it hasn't reached that stage yet

what do you guys think? @Ratmosphere
does it still have a long way to go or are there early signs to be recognized?

Scolopendra dehaani 'red leg', it used to be much more uniformly brown than this

it has been about a year now, so i am hoping it will molt soon and get rid of the old injuries it came with.

I can’t entirely tell, but it does have a nice thickness to it.

@Taffy this could help a lot of people worried about their pede.

thx, anyway

i have looked at a lot of pictures of pedes in premolt, but so far i have never seen the process in person

and they do seem to change based on the stage of the molt cycle

perhaps i will be able to document the changes during premolt i see with this pede, since it doesn't hide nearly as much as my other one
