So, scavenge him/her. But mind, as I've told you, if she's gravid, that would be risky :-/

Try in a gentle way, like I did for mine... I lifted a bit the cork bark when she was under. She was like: "close that .... door!"

its gone, I will never underestimate a centipede again! this is the 2nd one i had escape.. I dug everything out no sign of it.

Ah. A S.subspinipes on the loose... now those are great news :kiss:

Do you have, btw (and if you want of course, uh) the chance to upload a picture of the enclosure? :-s

IME , each species seem to be more secretive or " pet holes " ... Vietnamese species def disappeared for weeks at a time as oppose to our texas species which were out every evening !

@Pipa Were those S. polymorpha? S. heros?

I got a S. polymorph about a month ago, and only have seen it above ground the first couple days I have had it. But it has made a crazy tunnel system threw the substrate. It is in a round container so sometimes I get to see it in one of the tunnels against the wall. Yours is probably just enjoying its home. I am not sure if you mentioned how deep your substrate was. Also note I only have 1 Pede, so this is a omit from a beginner. Mine is about 7 inches. ;)
