Dear all,

It has been years since I visited this forum (sorry for that and a big up for this still lively forum)
To enlarge my cry for attention on facebook. I will post this here also.

Small introduction again:
I am Tom, living in Belgium. Since 2013 I am breeding Scolopendra hardwickei. As a ecologist I was interested in animals since I was born. At the age of 15 I started keeping tarantula's. In 2012 I got into keeping Scolopendra sp.

So here it comes:

SAVE the captive bred SCOLOPENDRA HARDWICKEI population... if you have animals above 12 cm contact me and work together with me to safeguard this species from extinction in the hobby culture!
With 4 years of experience (2013-2014-2016-2017) and 4 females ready I can fix the next generation in 2018. But not without a male.
Offering 50% from the offspring if you are the person that can provide me a male!

Didn't know that they were (particularly, I mean) at risk. I mean, not like certain Poecilotheria species could be, in Sri Lanka etc.

Sadly I don't have a 1.0 specimen at the moment... a couple of years ago they were more available here in Italy, nowadays is most likely S.subspinipes, S.dehaani etc or our native S.cingulata.

In Germany there is no one, btw, with a male, that can help you? Have you asked to Thorsten Trapp etc?

Last Hamm exhibition (last weekend) I found a male from my own clutch in 2016. Ready to mate. But then disaster happens, the male get stucked in his molt Tuesday.

I am mainly focusing on UK members. In 2016 their were more then 5 clutches in UK, their must be people still having one that I can not reach through facebook.

Man that's sucks having your male stuck in a moult, update us if you find a male! I wish this species was legal here

Offspring 2018 is a fact. These are picture from mid september.

About the last picture: 3 captive bred generations in 1 capture (2018-2017-2016)

Agreed! The only time I've ever seen one for sale here was an adult female for $700+ at an expo.

Amazing, it makes me glad to see breeding projects like this keeping cb populations in the hobby. Like others have mentioned, I wish we could get Hardwickei in the US.
