Is it safe for a Marpissa Muscosa to use sand as substrate or might the Sand get into their lungs like for example with Tarantulas?

I’ve never heard of a spider suffering from silicosis but im no doctor. Sand is probably not a real problem, but the favored substrate around here is coco coir. You can mix sand with coconut coir if you want to

Sand won't hold humidity well, but as mentioned you can mix some sand with the coco coir. I know sand can hurt animals like leopard geckos, I don't know if that would be the same for jumping spiders.

Some jumpers live on beaches on the sand. Like Habronattus amicus, Terralonus californicus, and Hakka himeshimensis. Their patterns look like sand. So I doubt it’s harmful! :D

If you are afraid about tiny particles, simply rinse it generously. Only big particles will remain.
