Whats the longest anyone has had their Rosea remain in this late stage of pre-molt before finally molting.

I have the humidity at about 65% based on my lil cheap meter. She seems to be enjoying the moist area I created with my special layered substrate. dry on tyop, moist on teh bottom

All of mine seem to take forever even after they get a black booty. The last one took about 3 or 4 months

Sit back and relax, it could be a couple more months. Roseas don't do ANYTHING fast.

My big adult fem G rosea stopped eating 3 months ago. Her booty has finally just barely started to slooowwwly darken these past couple of weeks. I figure she'll probably molt by June...

If i'm lucky.

same here my rosie is still 2 1/2" and shes been fasting for 2 months already, but during this past few days she turned a bit darker but still don't eat anything.

is it normal that as little as 2 1/2 inches it started fasting?:?
because i thought only those adult ones do that (not sure though)

Even a little sling will usually stop taking food before molting. Bigger t's just slow everything down. 1" slings molt every 30-45 days or so and thus will fast for a few days to a week. A 5" G rosea molts every Uhmmm... 2-3 years or so (?) so they can fast for a few months if they feel like it. They've got the time.

When my smaller rosea molted last year from about 3.5" to 4" she fasted for at least two months, probably longer.

Hmmm...... my rose has had a black butt since I got it two months ago, and she is still eating ravenously. Does that fact that she is 4+" make a difference? Is this only really for slings?

The blackening or the fasting?

In both cases no. The black butt refers to the parts of a NW t where you can see the skin on the abdomen due to bald spots where the t has been flicking hair. As molt approaches the skin changes from pinkish to black to shiny black. The colors and markings on the t also get faded and sorta dusty looking.

When i got my g rosea sling at 1cm it molted without eating anything. Now at 2cm and a month later, still not eating. Its been over 2 months. I wonder if its gonna die?

So, let me get this straight. Roses usually have tan or pink 'skin' under their abdomen fur? I thought their bodies were usually black, besides their 'fur'. I think I am missing something.

Not a rosea but I imagine it would look similar to this. You can see the black taking over, eventually it will cover the whole booty.

My Rosea had a tan/brown paper bag colored abdomen. But that seems to be completly different from the brown/copper you see on her abdomen if she hasnt flicked. It seems that remains brown regardless...maybe darkening some as the abdomen underneath darkens to black.

It seems she has to have bald spot in order to see the black clearly.
