I also can't stand tarantulas.com. I read it occasionally but rarely post because it seems like it's always the same questions over and over. No real intellect there, and the way it's set up is atrocious. I don't really care for the way petbugs is set up either. Arachnopets is a great forum with knowledgeable people, but it can get a bit overwhelming for me sometimes, just the sheer volume of threads sometimes makes me dizzy =D
My favorite board and the one I consider "home" is spidertalk.net. It's the first T board I ever visited and I just feel comfortable there, many of the same people visit that board and this one so you get a lot of the same information. Between arachnopets and spidertalk.net we have all the bases covered:D. This is, as always, just my opinion :p .

Well, my room mate is determined that the site should have boards, and since the server space is actually being donated by him to host the site, and his interest lies in the technical areas of coding parts of the site rather than the arachnidian content, it looks like there will be boards on the site after all. It'll probably be more a social setting than aimed at Q&A about the most up to date info, and as I imagine that most of the site seers will be newbs to either the online comunity or to the hobby itself, no big deal... I've got a few ideas for the site, things I've not seen on other sites, but I'll keep them under my hat until the site is up. If the boards become a ghost town, oh well. They are not going to be the only reason the site exists.

In my opinion the more T sites the better. I have only been keeping T's for 2.5 years and did research about the hobby for 8 months before I actually got my first T's. I found it very difficult to locate valid helpful information while doing my research. I would like to see more detailed care information on a site. Many of hte caresheets that are available are not helpful at all. Go for it. Knowledge is power!
