My mother only insisted on 2, the other one got out of the enclosure and lost becuz my dad set it up in an enclosure 9-10 times its legspan and barely an inch of substrate, and my mom does not want another one after that 💀.

If I could choose my next T, next would be an adult Arizona Blonde female. ( One of my older brothers friends has one)

Well since I am only 14 and collage is in...4 -5 years, the possibility of it being alive is about 50-60%, but a juvenile would also do because their growth rates are the same is not slightly faster than grammostola species...( I'm probably the youngest person on this website:smug:)

Tends to happen when you give them an adult tank as an a sling. although I’ve placed my slings inside another container before incase any escaped it was too late for the obt . For the most part I’ve only had one or two escape . One was obt never found escaped during feeding and the n cromatus was found ended up male rip. Very long time ago when this happened, over 14 years ago.

Am I reading this right? You had an obt escape and never found it? 🧐
Was a tiny sling and nope never found it . Read how many years back it was lol.. . every other escape I found , only one injured was t stirmi that was sold time with a huge cyst .. long thread on it rip . It’s Died from the cyst itself not the fall which it survived. I’ll probably get another some day my cages are far more escape proof these days . Maybe I’ll try a sling not an adult .. I wasn’t ready for it back then .

yeah have his dad take care of them in a proper sized enclosure lol.. or go to college near by.

After you had T's for a while especially slings you'll learn not to worry about them when sealed in their burrow.

I don't know how much research on tarantulas you've done before acquiring your tarantula. There's few times where a keeper should be concerned. Majority of time it should always be hands off, (meaning do not disturb).

There are a few legitimate instances when a sling to juvenile should be inspected but it's so seldom.

There's always a risk of injuring or killing them even in those times if the T hasn't already succumbed to what the problem is.

Here is a good read:

pretend it is like Christmas. You wait until the package opens on its own. You don't bust into the packages on the 12th
There is a big lesson to learn here, which I find gets harder to learn as every generation's attention span gets smaller and smaller

You need to do NOTHING, learn that, doing something puts your T in duress

so don't act on urges

that will serve you well in life

Last Night was feeding. I noticed my daughter's MF G. pulchra had made what looked like a molting mat. I didn't disturb her. This Am when I woke up, she was on her back, I left her alone.
When I get home from work tonight I am guessing she will be wearing her new outfit, and I will continue to leave her alone

what's the narrative thread to this story? "leave her alone"

Successful molt when I got home. Still leaving her alone. Again, your own curiosity isn't worth the Ts well being
