Yes, for my biology assignment I have to choose an animal on the ICUN Red list of endangered animals and I have chosen to research the P. metallica. However, I am able to find a lot of miscellaneous articles on blogs or forums, but unfortunately I don't think my professor would consider that a credible source. I have been searching on my own but still no results. Does anyone know of any sources I could check out, or maybe it would be best for me to switch to a different animal with more articles written? My professor DID say that I could just do my research on a different species of Tarantula and simply apply that to the one I'm researching but they can be pretty different so I'm not so sure I should do that. Although based on that answer I suspect my professor doesn't know much about tarantulas so maybe I could get away with that!

Regardless, I'd prefer to stick to research about the p. metallica, does anybody know of any papers discussing their habitats/diets/threats to the population etc?

Too bad you cant do it on the entire Poecilotheria genus, then I'm sure there'd be much more published journals and what-have-you. I would honestly try to find a Facebook group where arachnologists/taxonomists hang out. I'm afraid I'm not sure of any specific names of relevant groups, but I know you could simply join some tarantula and spider groups and ask about written resources there.

What’s the assignment exactly? That would help as well.

You might want to look up the petition put forth by WildEarth Guardians to USFWS. It might provide references to papers, although the petition itself goes into some detail.

The assignment is about conservation, so I have to research information about the species and what threats it faces and general information about what efforts are being put into place/what can be done to conserve the species. Ill have a look at that, thanks!

Google Scholar is your friend.

Either that or the World Spider Catalog:

https://wsc.nmbe.ch/

Maybe Tarantulapedia:

https://www.tarantupedia.com/
Yes thats exactly what I was looking for, thanks!

Does the entry on Poecilotheria metallica at the IUCN Red List web site not provide everything you need? It has a bibliography of papers used to justify their listing.
