Hi everyone!
New account since I can’t remember the username to my last one.
Been in the hobby for a couple years now and am having trouble rehousing my Pumpkin Patch (leg span approx. 1.5 in). The new enclosure is in the middle of the large tote, but I don’t know how to get him in there. He’s very fast, so my concern is not being fast enough to prevent him from escaping from the tote.
He can’t climb up the sides of it, but he can easily scale the corners. Any advice on what to do here?

(I know the new enclosure is pretty big, but it was the smallest I could find with a latch at the top to drop prey into. Also, he escaped last time I rehoused him, so I really dont want to do this again for a while.)

What’s your question? As long as it doesn’t escape rehouse is a success do you have a catch cup?

Just wanted to know good methods for getting him in the new enclosure. He escaped from his enclosure last time I rehoused him, a few months ago. I’m worried about this happening again.
I’m using a disposable wawa cup as a catch cup, but I’m worried about him escaping the catch cup, even if I manage to get him in there.

Have a few catch cups on hand if at all possible. I lay a few around on their side (without lids) just in case the spider bolts into one, and that gives me multiple options to reach for. Also have lids or something else ready to go. I like to use those junk-mail flyers, they're usually sturdy enough for small spiders and they're nice and flat so they slide under the cup/ container easier than a lid.

As far as escaping the enclosure, all holes and openings must be smaller than the carapace.

Thank you! I appreciate it. I’ll try doing that.
Wish me luck lol
That last detail is most important make sure it cannot escape the new enclosure. Multiple catch cups like said can help although I’ve only ever used one.
