I have a few questions and I hope lots of people will give there input. In your pets enclosure do you have real or fake rocks?if you had the option of real or fake what would you choose? How many of you want to be very creative with your enclosure design?if you could get a complete set up would you do that or piece one together? Thanks for your reply

Real rocks are unnecessarily dangerous.
Tarantulas/scorpions can borrow under them and be crushed by the weight, and real rocks often have sharp edges.

That is very true except the kinds of rock and shape or weight would be about the same sometimes a bit more than the plastic stuff and no sharp edges. Me and my wife are about to launch a online store with all natural habitat stuff from the Mojave desert from exactly where you find hadrurusarizonensis literally the exact places. There will be a selection of stuff very vast! Way more than any other store I can find

I know that in the wild tarantulas and other invertebrates live with all natural stuff, rocks, plants, etc. But for me, and I know many others here agree, the risk of having a pet crushed or injured by heavy or sharp items just isn't worth the negligible difference in appearance from fake. I rest easier at night knowing my enclosure is as safe as possible.

I use both, but real ones were fixed with foam or were placed in a way that couldn't harm the T. The fake rock background was made out of PU foam, and then painted with fine mortar. If you are going to use rocks use volcanic ones, they are pretty light and the T can move them if they want.

Though their natural environment probably has rocks and other dangerous objects, the point of captivity is to keep them alive for to enjoy their beauty.
I just decorated (with no rocks) one of my enclosures today:

question lease, I have several natural terrariums with plants for my crested geckos. 6500K CFL on top. I am hearing most Ts don't like light, so do they just hide in their "hides" when the lights are on? Thx in advance

Mine doesn't bother about the light, but they are some photosensitive species that doesn't like any kind of light, imho it depends on the species.

Both usually stay outside all time in their preferred spots or wandering. Atm the geniculata closed her entrance, I hope she's going to molt soon.
