I really dont like my isopod set up, and i am thinking of re-doing it. I want more substrate, i want to take all the isopods out and put them in a temporary container. I have A. Granulatum and A. Maculatum in a 10 gal. Aquarium, if i really carefully take all the isopods, (I'll try to collect all the young ones too) put them in a different container for a bit, and re did their enclosure with more substrate and new stuff would that be ok? I want them to have a better set up then they have. I don't know if that would stress them out too much? Ill try and be careful if that would work or should i not re-do it?
Thankyou for any suggestions!

Go for it,
Rehousing is fine when done in a well thought out and expedient manner.
Before and After Pics Please.
Good Luck,

edit - sounds like a plan :shy:

Good Luck,
Thankyou for a reply!!! I was worried no one would reply and i would have to choose (not my favorite thing). I am a bit worried since mine are often burrowed uner the first 1/4 inch of dirt or so, so im going to carefully put every isopod i can into a temporary container with mabye some sphagnum moss or something to feel safer in. Cause i only have 6 adults of the two species, and then mabye 20-30 granulatum youngsters, but big enough to spot. I just would feel horrible if any died or if i did something wrong 😔 but i will try, soon! Ill take a photo of setup tomorrow. 👍

Heres a before photo of my isopod enclosure right now, it has oak leaves, cork bark, sphagnum moss, a peice of cholla wood, a peice of a deer jawbone (they love it), some shells, a snail one and i think clam, unless its called something else, and a tiny fairy egg that one of my chickens laid that i hollowed out. Thats all thats in there, but im going to reposition it and make it look nicer, and i want the substrate to be more moist, cause it dried out alot since i made the enclosure. I ordered more substrate and im going to re-do it soon. Ill post about it when i do 😊 thanks
