Quick question

A few days ago we had a typical Thai big black scorp come visit. Apologies for no pic. Camera batteries were dead.
It's abdomen was so distended, inflated like a balloon, it couldn't even raise it's stinger in a threat posture.
Is this typical for an advanced state of pregnancy? The other causes coming to mind being parasites or bacteria.

Old, premolt, extremely gravid, or just a fatty that ate a big grub.

I had completely forgotten about these kids being such complete pigs. I once saw one that nabbed a cicada, almost as big as itself, and over an 8 hour period munched the entire thing down.
