Hello, I have a exo-terra 40w purple night glo reptile light for my 3i p. imperators. I had read that this lamp does not produce UV light in great quantities. Last night I was watching my scorpions wander and I noticed that they were fluorescing a bit when they walked in close proximity to the light. I know that UV radiation can cause stress and shorten their lives.

i was told by some experts that these lights are in fact okay. let me dig up the post

mine did too, i had them on it for months until i sold them and had no problems.
