That's interesting, I didn't realise that. Certainly seems to be quite popular over here in the UK judging by how many people attend shows.

I've worked with some dogs with severe behavioral issues....and I've literally seen people mauled, losing fingers, and needing reconstructive surgery from serious bites. A lot of people also don't realize that a cat bite can land someone in the hospital on IV antibiotics. Even small dogs can cause significant injuries to hands and fingers. It grates on my nerves when people think it's funny that their lap dog is aggressive. A tarantula bite doesn't even compare in most cases (unless you're unlucky enough to receive a bite from a P. ornata or something).

I’m not sure what being Mexican specifically has to do with that… but I think the general uneducated population all have the same misinterpretations. Do the non-Mexicans you associate with have differing opinions?

it’s more than that lol, they live in a town where cats in the street fight all the time, and chase people off, but then they see a big spider and it leaves everybody alone. So there’s a bunch that know that they’re harmless, yet others that still believe they aren’t, which is interesting as they come from a place that has tarantulas endemic to their very town. So I think it’s interesting that even in places that they’re common, there’s differing opinions on their actual danger.

It's true yall get INVERT ONLY shows. We don't have that. We have reptile expos where there's a few , maybe half a dozen, bug vendors if you're lucky. Some of them just buy from wholesalers to flip though. You could tell they don't actually keep or breeder the Ts. There's been a lot of ispod tables popping up too from what I've seen. I guess just cuz they're easy to keep/breed and people think they're cute?

And you guys prices are wayyy better. Scott's Inverts on YouTube does a lot of show vids and is good about showing pricing. I think I just saw one about the BTS show and remember thinking 45 quid for like a 3in female H. pulchripes was basically what I paid for a half inch sling last year lol. There was another video awhile back that showed colorforms of OBT on a table for like 5-8 quid and it was around the same time I had gotten a half in sling of OBT DCF "Kenya" for $15 thinking that was a great deal lol.
