Hi new user here :) I have a question please. I have a Chilean Rose here, adult, she's quite big. How long does it take them to eat a superworm? Last night it took her like 4 hours to finish it. Had me worried. I know they make their food into a slurpy type meal, but is this normal? Thank you.
How much time would have been acceptable for you to not worry? I'm curious to see.

Well, the 4 hours mark had me concerned. My last girl would have hers done in no time. Point is I was concerned. I came here looking for reassurance that she was ok.

I see you had a reference point, that's fair. I wanted to see if you were coming up with 4 hrs as some made up time point. Quite a few people have "reasons" based on nothing but their own human concern, ie, not based on anything.

My suitable punishment would be ........forceful enlightenment. Not splitting hairs, but willful ignorance might just be the same as settling for ignorance. Either way it encompasses laziness, and indefinitely, a lack of ambition. Seeking answers is never a bad thing, and as long as we are actively seeking beneficial knowledge about the interest at hand, we remain invincible to the ignorance label. I myself, am guilty of laziness at times. We all have these lapses. No one, I repeat no one.....is exempt from a lapse of judgment (AKA No one is perfect) I say we ban all high horses and keep moving in a progressive and civilized direction.
All of this is true. And I'm certainly not perfect. You are correct in that regard. When I speak of "willful ignorance" however, is not the same as laziness. I think all of us from time to time just ask questions of those who have more experience just to save time. No, I'm referring to the individuals who have the information given or presented, are given proof, even sometimes scientifically proven, but just refuse to believe it or acknowledge it. EG. "The only good snake/spider/lizard/dog, (insert any number of animals), is a dead one. All are mortally dangerous and will kill you if given the slightest chance, etc." and then despite being shown the truth, they still will go out of their way to eradicate them when able to.

Way back when I got my first, a G. porteri, I had no outlet for really good info, or at least I didn't know how/where to find it, and I saw, and even acted on what I now consider poor behavior...things like soaking the sub on occasion, feeding large or dangerous wc prey (like wasps) and even fed her a small mouse...that mouse took her just over 20 hours to finish. Bigger prey items simply take more time to consume and shouldn't be cause for concern.;)

These people you speak of...I know a few and I simply choose to ignore those comments and mindsets. If they are that obtuse and close minded then I havent much to say to them. I just smile and move on. I have an ex-wife...Ive had my fill of arguments [emoji42]
