We were doing an all day educational presentation with our inverts & reptiles this last weekend & I was asked a question:

Woman: "Is it a male or female?"

Me: "Its only 1/4 of an inch so I cant tell at this point, its unsexed."

Woman" "You mean its neutered, I didnt know you could do that with tarantulas!"

Me: "No, you cant neuter tarantulas, unsexed means I dont know if its male or female."

Wow. Kim

Meh, it is fairly common for people to get the prefixes un- and de- mixed up. I blame it on the word undo.

Here is the definition of unsexed:
1.
to deprive of sexual power; render impotent or frigid; spay or castrate.
2.
to deprive (oneself or another) of the proper or appropriate character and qualities of one's sex, as by unnatural conduct.

I am making a habit of referring to them as unknown gender... she obviously knew the correct definition of the word and had a valid question.
