Question about pink toe

Hi! My pink toe molted about 3 weeks ago and hasn’t eaten. I tried feeding her and she seems very slow and lethargic. Any ideas to help hydrate her? Can I put her in with some wet paper towels? Her is her enclosure and a picture of her. I don’t actually know if it’s a female.

If it has tibeal hooks and boxing glove looking pedipalps it’s male if not it’s probably female at that size . Enjoy 😉!! Sometimes they don’t eat until a month after a molt. I can’t tell from pics .
Thank you for the info! It’s hard to get a good picture of it in the terrarium 😆

I would recommend giving her a little more time before being too concerned but it's always a good Idea to have decent humidity for a pinktoe around 60-80% and a full water dish and in my experience they can go sometimes about a month or so without eating after molting and sometimes want to eat as soon as their teeth finish hardening. BTW The picture of you pinktoe is kind of blurry but if you can get a better shot of the underside of its abdomen the way you took that one it is really easy to sex. Take more pics and I can show you. I hope this helps. Also just based on that pic of it I think it's female.

I can’t really tell check the molt?
Let’s see what others think 🧐.
You can definitely check them all but if you're unsure chances are it will be difficult for you to see the difference with them all for me personally it's easier to see the difference on a large enough tarantula by looking at the underside itself on a life specimen anyway but here is a picture that maybe can help you. If you look at the picture that you sent it does look like it has an epigastric Furrow in between the top set of book lungs and if so congrats you have a long living female.

I’m pretty terrible at ventral sexing until Ts are around 5”. That’s is helpful!
I guessed right on my smaller lp.

Don't put her in with moist towels. Too much humidity with inadequate ventilation can harm or kill them. Aiming for specific numbers can be more harmful than good in that regard.

That's true but they come from South American rainforest conditions which has very heavy community sometimes 90% in nature.

Also I was going to mention that the picture that you posted showing her Underside clearly shows that her fangs are not hardened yet they are still pinkish red and will not be fully hard therefore she won't be ready to eat until they are completely black and hardened so I'm not sure how long ago that picture was taken but keep an eye on her face before you try to give her food.

The rainforests have heavy airflow. Enclosures have no airflow so the tarantula can/will suffocate. Moist substrate, good ventilation, and a water dish will suffice. We don't want a "SADS" care issue repeat.

thank you! I will try to get more pics. She doesn’t show her underside very often. 😆

It was taken tonight so I will definitely let them harden before trying to feed her again. I am very new to this so I appreciate your insight.

Thanks for the insight! Oh nelly. I mangled the molt pulling it out of the web…and then threw it away. 🤦🏻‍♀️

This isn’t the whole truth. And your answer on its own will lead to a dead Avic fast.

What’s the difference between rainforest and a tank?

They should sticky that care sheet you helped write in your signature I see avic questions everyday. My first avic had a bad molt I figured because I kept it dry but later on I realized I was doing it properly it was just not cared for well before I bought it. Sometimes they just have bad molts.

Oh I just found it yeah I’ll just link the beginner section to these people they’ll find it . I kinda wish I had gambled on the avic over the s cal . I’m just thinking they both looked male. I may just have to get a job and sneak my Ts in or find a way to convince my mom I’ll only get a few ts.

I feel like you're just trying to beat me for argument but for the sake of it of course you would want me to say ventilation and the funny thing is is that most people do have fans or air conditioners also the obvious

The obvious answer is natural in man-made habitat but don't try to beat somebody just for the sake of argument my events at times we're getting their terrarium sprayed 5 to 6 times a day in a very similar terrarium as the one shown in this picture which had by your standards I'm sure very poor ventilation it's called air conditioning or fans buddy.

That's a mature male. It's on borrowed time.
Yeah I asked in post 4 if it had tibeal hooks and stuff but that was terminology unfamiliar to the op. He can try and sell it for breeding or something or Loan it.
