Can pinhead crickets cause harm to my 1/3" slings?
My 1/4" brachy didn't always take live pinheads and often preferred prekilled. If the pinhead was the same size as the T or bigger I would prekill it if it was small enough then I would put it in live for one night and if it didn't, I would take it then I would squish it's head(so it's still twitchy) the following night and leave it overnight.

If your T isnt molting chances are the cricket will do no harm, just be sure to remove uneaten prey to avoid problems.

Only if it's molting and hasn't sealed itself in it's retreat.

Probably not, but as others pointed out, tarantulas are very vulnerable during the molting process. I avoid feeding if I suspect an impending molt.

Pin heads are a waste of money, get meal worms or small crickets and disable them, let it scavenge, plus tiny slings only need like two meals like that and they go into premoult

Ok I was just curious I removed the pen heads last night because she wasn't eating them and what do you know I get up this morning and find a freshly molted tarantula. So glad I removed them.

I use 8-day old crickets for my slings, smash them a bit and toss them in. I have 500-800 slings at any given time, I'm not cutting up parts!
