This is our female A. chalcodes. When I got her about a year ago, she was the sweetest thing. The whole family would hold her and she seemed to like being held. She spent a lot of time in our hands or on our laps. But all of a sudden she decided she didn't want to be messed with. She rears up and thumps her front legs down in the substrate and flicks hairs every time I touch anything in her cage. Has anyone else encountered this, or do you have any idea what her problem could be?

That time of the month

Maybe she's just ragging. Don't sweat, she'll get over it soon. Is she gravid? Have you changed her surroundings lately?

She is lovely.......

That is a great pic. Maybe she's just trying to tell you she doesn't want to be handled anymore. Just like a female...they let you "handle" them all of the time and then all of a sudden it's like they expect you to quit cold turkey. They lull you into a false sense of security and then the fangs come out!
