Does anyone know what temperature the psuedoscorpions come out at. it's currently -1 here in Manitoba, when should I start looking for them?

If it helps at all I was able to find orb weavers, mites and beetles outside already at these temps

not sure if it's any help, but i have only ever found them in quite warm temperatures (30*c or higher). with one exception, ive found them all by complete coincidence on glass sliding doors, and one interesting instance where one was hitchhiking on a house fly.

Believe or not, we are very close to Antarctica! Southern parts of the country are very cold and it even snows some places ;) even in northern NSW, not uncommon to wake up with frost on the lawn during winter

You've obviously never read The Man From Snowy River then ;)...

Anywho, I suppose you could still find them in and under leaf litter in Manitoba at those temperatures. My limited experience with them is from finding them under trees bark when the temperatures were around 70-80F.

Thanks,

pseudoscorpions generally come out when it is consistently above freezing I typically wait until its at least 65f degrees, that tends to be for soil dwelling species like the genus microbisium. for other families of pesudoscorpions like Cheliferidae or chernetidae I'd recommend looking under the bark of fallen trees when it starts consistently being in the 70f.
