So, I’ve had this pseudhapalopus sp. yellow blue sling for almost 3 years now. Got it as a 1/16” sling. The little fella is eating and molting like he is a G. Rosea, being the pickiest eater I’ve had and molting only once or twice a year. He’s barely 1/4” as of today. It took him 6 molts to get from 1\16” to 1/4”! I keep it with typical sling husbandry.

Fellow keepers who raised those guys from slings, any comments on the growth rate you have experienced? Just to be clear, I’m not concerned about my sling growing painfully slow, I’m more curious than anything.

I have it from a long time and well known US breeder that this genus is among the slowest growing he’s ever raised.

Too bad they look so cool. Or I guess we can think of that as a great reward for those able to be patient enough to raise them. Buying an adult female will be a pretty penny if any ever come up for sale.

Mine has grown much faster than that - gone from 3/8" to 1.25" since I got it in June, molted 4 times. Eats reliably, only gripe is that it stays hidden away in it's burrow 98% of the time. I keep mine on the warmer side, 75°-80°F, so that may have something to do with the difference. I did get to see it's blue butt the other day...

And the rest of it the next day:

The yellow is just starting to show, the blue has been visible since the molt before last.

Hi
they are slow growers indeed.
I got mine about 2 years 7 month ago as microscopic slings. All 3 of my girls are curently in premoult with them refusing foor between 50 -157days.They are 2.75-3 inch atm. I never gave them the option to burrow too deep .
Housed initially in 1oz deli pots. Then 4oz,8oz and now 1.3l braplast container. They have been good eaters for me.
Temps variable 18-30°C depending on season.

Yeah exotikeeper. I believe its only available to android users not apple. That used to be the case anyway. They may have launched an apple version now.
I use an excel spreadsheet as I found it easier as that's what I use in my day to day work anyway. The app is good though.

Found it on the App Store for Apple, so they do have it now. I currently use a small program that doesn’t take up much space on my phone and doesn’t track me, but it also only keeps track of last molt, not history. I have to keep that in the notes.
Thank you, both!!

I caught my little one out yesterday and it cooperated while I took some pics. The intensity of the blue varies depending on the angle. I'm excited for the yellow to really start coming in more.
