I never heard of this species. Ok, I wasn't in Kornwestheim, however its new to me as well.Did these just come into the hobby in Europe?
there is an image of a mature male in a magazine called DRACO.Have you any images of the adult? and where were these collected?
Cheers Gordon, I thought it was but thanks for Clarifying it for me.Hey,
the male on the page 46 is the "new" species, P. langenbucheri.
cheers
Gordon
not really new, but recently described, yes.I noticed that P. langenbucheri isn't in the WSC. I'm assuming it's a new species?
I know from specimens collected and imported into Germany already in 1994.Did these just come into the hobby in Europe?
yep, that's the same. It's the species Boris Striffler was working on with some colleagues. His paper was finished and already in the peer review process, but unfortunately G. Schmidt – who knew that Boris Striffler was working on this species – ignored this, wrote a paper about it and published it in a non peer review magazine, before Boris et al.'s paper could be published. *sigh*Ok I will come clean and say that I can not be totally sure if it the same as the one which Martin H posted (think so though but can't recall the name ) but I do know that pic is a Psalmopoeus sp. and not a
Tapinauchenius sp. as I asked the person who took the photo. The one in the book is or has been discribed but can't remember for sure if he called it langenbucheri or not?
