I was watching this silly show called Monster Bug Wars, where they show confrontations between different insects and/or arachnids, usually resulting in one or both dying. There was one that showed this cricket, I believe it was caled a Bulldog bush cricket or something like that. Anyway this thing was extremely viscious and would use its wings to catch its prey in midair, impailing them with its sharp spiny legs and then devouring them alive. There was actually a sequence in which the cricket attacked and managed to kill and eat a "whistling" tarantula. Not sure what genus these Ts belong too, but I believe they're supposed to get quite large, so I found this very suprising that the cricket was able to kill it with ease. Just wondering if anyone knew the name of this cricket and could possibly provide me w/ more info on it.
