Hi, i have a predatory beetle ,anthnaii sp, and he has been eating only superworms but i would like to move them to beetle jelly, would he eat it? i would think not because it is fruit based but you never know, if he won’t eat it, is there a way i could make a beetle jelly that he would eat?

Predatory beetles need to eat other bugs. While some might occasionally nibble at a beetle jelly or bits of fruit, it will not be enough to meet their nutritional requirements. I have had predatory ground beetles that would eat the occasional bit of fruit - as will some centipedes - but it is just a treat or water source, not the mainstay of their diet. The bulk of their food was crickets or roaches.

Most predatory beetles will eat dry dog food or pieces of meat (and indeed, many "carnivorous" carabid beetles are omnivores who regularly feed on seeds), but why would you do that when you can feed them their natural diet?

They don't need living prey, but if bugs is what they eat, feed them bugs.
