Thanks for taking the time to provide the link. It really didn't say termites, it said insects which could be ants or beetles, or probably about 10 million possibilities. Quality captives used the term "theory" incorrectly. Actually it is a hypothesis, and probably a pretty good one. I would love to see a thin-layer chromatography experiment "finger printing" the poison in the frog, with the poison in the insect, and the poison in the plant.

Well, considering most Dendrobatid size, termites certainly make the most sense. There are species of termites that harvest plants, chew them up and then use the "paste" to feed their larvae so the possibility of the termites passing on toxins to the frog is entirely within the realm of likelihood.
