Love the blue hue around the eyes. just a question Gray, do you keep your pokies as ground dwellers aka make there own burrows in the dirt. or do you provide them with a hollow tree? either way she looks super healthy.:)
i tend to let them do what they do.. all my poeci have hollow cork rounds.. SHE just happens to like the ground. Ive never seen her go inside the cork tube.. may replace it with a slab to hide behind.
See her enclosure here http://www.arachnoboards.com/ab/showthread.php?229432-MY-turn-to-build-a-back-drop she is still recovering from a molt (4 days ago) and at her size...nearly 8"... she will prob take a while to explore in that corner she had a dirt curtain which she immediately rolled up and tossed after molting (i pulled it and put it in with my MM to get it charged up)

P. tigrinawesseli

S/he was a cheap find. I was doing work experience for two weeks at this reptile shop where I live and the owner was pretty cool. He had a few tarantulas and tarantulas are rare-ish to find in ireland. I seen he had 2 Pokies and I knew one had to be mine!! Despite I only had a rosea :p I asked about the Pokies and he told me one was on hold to be sold to a guy and the other one was an "Indian Ornamental". I picked up the "Indian Ornamental" for €60, which was cheaper than the price he bought it for, later to find s/he was a P tigrinawesseli. €60 is about $70-75 USD.. :)

Could anyone have a guess at the sex while I'm here??? I'm leaning towards male... s/he's about 4 inches

Close to impossible with my camera.. terrible quality when it comes to macro. :/

Terrible pictures I do understand but when I was looking at the spider up close taking the pictures I noticed s/he has a triangular black spot if that's any help at all. Also noticed a small white dot.

My vote is male, but could also be a very hungry pokie. Imo dorsal pics mean nothing, As my female P.pederseni gets farther into its molt cycle it gets the black patch on the dorsal side of the abdomin like a male.
