Thank you so much for the advice. It's extremely appreciated. My head was starting to spin when I first started trying to figure the best way for me to do this.

It seems confusing at first, but after you do it a few times, you'll start to see patterns in what males and females do. Most of the time they'll get down to business quickly. Sometimes you have to wait, it's like the male dozes off once he gets in her cage. If one or both parties isn't interested in a date, take him out and try again another time; nothing's going to happen without mutual consent. Females run the gamut from being extremely receptive, to ignoring him entirely. If she's hostile, it's usually going to be at the introduction. The other high risk time is immediately after insertion (no matter how receptive she was prior to that, women can be fickle). The only Poec male deaths I've had have been within the first minute. As long as they're both courting, I've never lost one during a sleep-over date (that's Poecs and Asian arboreals only). Poecs have the longest courtship ritual of any tarantula species I've ever paired by.

Odds are they'll both court, he'll be fine the next morning, and you should get a sac over the winter or spring. Feed her well after mating for best egg production. Let me know if I can help, PM me if you want.

I ended up pairing a few days earlier than originally intended. It was a humid, stormy night last night (those enjoyable nights where you can catch most of your T's up and doing something) and the male was tapping his little butt off. First time I've caught him. The female wasn't tapping back (their enclosures touching sides), but she definitely seemed to notice as she was kind of searching around. He didn't even stop tapping when I picked up his enclosure to stick it inside her tank lol. I hadn't fed the female in a few days, but otherwise have been feeding the absolute heck out of her. Anyway, once inside her enclosure, they both immediately realized they were in each others presence and ran out to tap at each other and dance all around the enclosure. As @Poec54 said, it was very boring. I left my T room for a little while to do something else. Upon my return, I saw the female hanging out by her water dish, before retiring back to her hide and the MM on the side of the tank grooming his pedipalps. I didn't see any actual insertions, but I have a feeling it definitely happened and was successful. He was still alive this morning, but didn't have time to retrieve him as I accidentally over slept for work. Anyway. Thank you so much for the advice. I have a very good feeling about this.
