I know P. regalis can get quite large...how big do subfuscas generally get? Is there a big size difference between highland and lowland?

Regalis, along with most Poecs, average around 7". Subfusca highland from 6,000' in Nuwara Eliya is blacker, smaller, closer to 6", and the lowland (bara) from Kandy at under 2,000' is around 7". Unfortunately, the revision that said they are the same species (there's not a full consensus on that) gave the green light for mixing the two, so a number in the hobby now are crosses. Many people breeding/selling them don't know if they have highland, lowland, or a cross, and often have the wrong name.

I just took another peek at her and the band isn't there at all, not like in the photo, I'm guessing maybe a slight post molt color difference or a lighting issue. I'll take another peek at her in the morning.
The person I received it from is very reputable and I know where he got it is reputable as well and would highly doubt they would make such a huge mistake of mistaking regalis for striata, regalis are probably the easiest to identify out of the pokies, with the obvious exception of Metallica and the more unique ones.

Luckily she isn't my only female striata so my penultimate male won't go to waste
Sorry to be the grinch. Look up some ventral comparison photos or illustrations and see how the leg bands look. That definitely isn't a regalis, but I'm suggesting it has some regalis somewhere in its background. I've seen hybrids of the two in the past, so I know it happens. Maybe it's a striata x striata/regalis or something where it's a more dilute hybrid, but it looks fishy to me. Sorry.

I did not want to start a brand new thread so I am posting this here. This is my Poecilotheria tigrinawesseli: (click on the photo for full size)

Peocilotheria are so incredibly majestic looking creatures!

I realize that it's an old thread but one question remains about the suspect Striata hybrid.

What do the siblings all look like?

If they are all or if multiple slings have deviations, they're hybrids or mislabeled.

If it's just that one individual spider, most likely it's just a color morph, another words a mutant.

As far as a first one, my striata is extremely calm, neat, tidy, puts all boluses into her web in the upper corner and has never acted skittish or aggressive even once when maintaining the cage even if I pull all the decorations out!!

Either one asked about would be truly spectacular.
