Pictures of my P. striata female, who produced a successful eggsac this spring. My apologies for the quality of the ventral shot. It's difficult to take a good picture through glass. But at least you can see there's no bellyband

I'm pretty sure it is John... the first successful one that is.

I know they've been bred out in CA recently as well.

As a matter of fact, I'm just finished writing an article about the experience. But I don't mind giving you a preview

Delay between mating and egg-laying:

P. striata #1: 223 days
P. striata #2: 229 days

Days of incubation at 80 degrees F required for development in P. striata eggsac #1:

Post-embryo: 39 days
1st instar: 44 days
2nd instar: 64 days

Number of eggs in eggsacs:

P. striata #1: 101 eggs
P. striata #2: 158 eggs

Number of eggs that successfully developed into 2nd instars:

P. striata #1: 76 spiderlings (75% of eggsac)
P. striata #2: 0 spiderlings (0% of eggsac)

Those colors are absolutely killing me. She is huge!! Just a personal preference,I'm not fond of the enclosure but, that's just me. Awesome picture of her tho.
