Everyone always relates the poop-shooting aspect of arboreal T's to Avicularia spp., but after seeing my P. rufilata take a shot at it, I have to say they have superior aim and power behind their poo shooting.

I have my girl in an exo-terra type setup and she shot poo all the way across to the other side of the tank onto a leaf, where there was already an overwhelming amount of white yuck accumulated to the point of weighing the leaf down. The way in which it traveled through the air before hitting the leaf was awe inspiring; so much, yet it all seemed to stay together in a perfect stream, hitting its target perfectly in a big 'splat'. They are almost like a rabbit with their poo-shooting skills, preferring to keep it in one location it seems.

The most astonishing aspect of all of this is that they do it without being able to watch where it goes. It would be comparable to a human bending over and shooting a poo stream 30' and hitting a leaf, without looking where it is going. Amazing!

LOL
I have a few large pokies who also do this. It's really funny when you get to hear the sound it makes hitting the other side of the enclosure. The force behind their poo-shooting ability is profound.

Absolutely profound! Another thing is the way they rear up when they do it. When she first did it, all I could think was man this is interesting, I have never seen her do this before... then BAM!

They are the Jackson Pollock of t's. That's why I actually hang bare bits of dark colored canvas (since the poo is white) on each side of my pokie cages. I save them and sell them on ebay. I've made up to $13 doing this per sheet which are about the size of a toilet paper square. Sometimes I get super lucky and the randomness makes shapes much like cloud formations. There was one that looked like a jacked-up Mickey Mouse. That's the one I sold for $13. You had to squint pretty hard to see it but it was definitely there. I call them my Jackson Pollokie Collection. I'm thinking about expanding my line up and doing a connect the dot or a children's coloring book series. I'm really hoping that with this extra effort I can make up to $15. My pokies practically pay for themselves.

Hehe.. that cat had me ROFL!

It is unreal how they do it! I MUST get a picture of the pose, its just a Kodak moment ya know? Watching that pokie cannon, its amazing. :)

That little P. subfusca I got from you is quite the character as well by the way. The whole stereotype of pokies being fast just does not apply to her, she just sits there. So placid and calm, it is amazing and I love it.

Yet to see her bust out the poop cannon yet, but I will I am sure when I finally get to rehousing her in a display cage here soon. I named her Rhiannon ;)

It is amazing to me watching higher animals take a dump kinda grosses me out; but when a pokie shoots a poo stream across its cage, I am like a kid watching a fireworks display for the first time. {D

That's cool.
Maybe she just poops in the same place every time, in the same direction.

Try moving the leaf. If she still tries to hit the leaf, then perhaps you can pin leaves on people, carry a pokie in your sleeve, and be a very much more disgusting spiderman!:D
