Well, yesterday I tried introducing a few porcellio scaber to my Platymeris laevicollis's enclosure. Problem is, half of them turned up dead within a day. Any clean up crew
suggestions that won't get eaten? Thanks in advance!
If it moves, they eat it. I used P. scaber for "snacktime" in between feedings. If you can keep the substrate moist without overdoing the tank's humidity, try springtails.
I second springtails as a cleanup crew. I use Folsomia candida in several enclosures, from geckos to millipedes. They do a great job. You might also consider Trichorhina tomentosa, micro white woodlice. They are much smaller than Porcellio scaber, tend to hide in the daytime, breed much more quickly, and might not attract the attention of your assassin bugs.
