Hey everyone, so I have a decent amount of past experience keeping this species but just started a new colony a few weeks back. They’ve been doing well on pinhead crickets and fruit flies but one of them recently had a strange molt. Usually they seem to do this hanging upside down from the bark I provide in the enclosure, but for whatever reason this one decided to do it on the substrate (or maybe it fell from the bark?). It was mostly out of the molt when I found it, but still had 2 legs stuck inside. After another 12 hours or so, it freed itself fully, but seems unable to walk so I assume it’s dying for some reason. Has anyone had this happen before? I’ve always found them to be pretty hardy. I can’t imagine humidity is a factor considering they tend to like it dry. Could just be a random death I suppose.

It fell from the bark in all likelihood, as they don't molt on the substrate. If it doesn't die and is able to catch food it should eventually molt out of it (or die due to complications with that molt).

Thanks,
